ABOUT
The Early Childhood STEM Lab is a group of educators and researchers dedicated to improving the quality of STEM teaching and learning for young children.
We provide research-based resources and professional learning opportunities to educators, education leaders, enrichment specialists, library staff, and organizations dedicated to the education of all young children.
With many years of expertise in child development, educational research, pre-service teacher preparation, in-service teacher professional learning, STEM, inquiry, and supporting diverse learners, we advocate for and support teaching that is achievable, sustainable, and transformative.
We believe that through a strengths-based lens, we can empower those who work with young children to find the STEM learning opportunities that are all around them, grounded in their space and place, in a way that is respectful and kind.
We believe that early science, technology, engineering, and math, and integrated STEM experiences can and should be fun, appropriate, and inspirational...for the youngest children and for the adults who support them! These experiences lay the groundwork for a lifetime of competence and confidence to talk about, think about, read about, solve problems about, and engage in STEM on a daily basis. Who knows, maybe even for becoming the scientists, computer programmers, engineers, and mathematicians of tomorrow.
